The Beds. . .

. . .bereft of all their colorful flowers from spring and summer. . .

. . .are being put
       to bed
           for winter.

So, until next spring. . .

Nighty, night. . .

Lava Leaves

Each year, Autumn leaves rain down from trees. . .

. . .lava-like upon the pavement. . .

. . .completing the life-cycle begun last Spring. . .

Nature's fiery "coins", laying there just for the taking!

Get 'em while they're hot!

A Moment of Stillness...

. . .amid the hustle and bustle of Bryant Park at lunch time.

Take a moment to take in such moments.
They are truly priceless!

Gum Frog

Inexplicably, someone left their gum on the leaf of this plant. . .

. . .however, I think it looks like a little frog!

Wiggly Worm

Saw this little guy in Bryant Park, during one of my lunch time walks. . .

. . .not sure what brought him outside that day.

When I was a little girl, I remember that when it rained the earth worms would come up out of the ground onto the sidewalk.

My teachers always cautioned us not to step on them, because they were beneficial. . .

. . .so I didn't, even though I still thought they were kind of icky.

It's been a long time since I've seen earth worms when it rains. . .

Outdoor Accommodations

In an urban setting like NYC, the built environment often encroaches on or can completely overtake the natural environment.

Recently the Bryant Park Grill erected a tent, enclosing one of their outdoor dining areas.

There were trees in the outdoor area, that were taller than the tent. . .

. . .however, I was delighted to see that the tent was customized to accommodate them!

Bon appetit!
